14. Boxer Braids

Boxer braids are basically two Dutch braids. They’re super popular and stay put through almost anything. Finishing them off with a strong hold hairspray is a good idea.
13. French Braid Bun

Combine a French braid with a bun for extra security. Braid part of your hair and then twist it into a bun. Use plenty of bobby pins to anchor the bun firmly.
12. Dutch Braid Bun

Similar to the French braid bun, but with a Dutch braid. It offers excellent staying power. Sometimes I add a hair net over the bun for even more security.
11. Side Braid

A side braid can be good for keeping hair off one shoulder. It’s not as secure as having all your hair contained. Make sure you braid it as tightly as you can.
10. Fishtail Braid

A fishtail braid looks intricate and stylish. If you braid it tightly, it can hold up pretty well. It takes a little practice to get the hang of a tight fishtail.
9. Crown Braid

The crown braid is awesome for keeping absolutely all your hair off your neck and face. It wraps around your head like a halo. Use bobby pins along the braid to keep it secure against your head.
8. Braided Pigtails

Braided pigtails are fun and practical. Splitting your hair into two sections makes thick hair easier to manage. Braid each side tightly and secure the ends well.
7. Bubble Ponytail

A bubble ponytail is a cute way to keep a ponytail more controlled. The elastics create little bubble sections that limit movement. Using small, strong elastics works best.
6. Twisted Ponytail

Twisting sections of hair before putting it in a ponytail adds extra grip. It looks simple but is surprisingly secure. Make sure you twist the sections firmly before gathering them.
5. Multiple Small Braids

Braiding several small sections throughout your hair before gathering it is smart. This prevents little pieces from escaping. I like to braid the sections right around my hairline first.
4. Braided Headband

Creating a braid along your hairline acts like a built-in headband. It keeps all those front pieces out of your eyes. Pin the ends of the braid behind your ears to finish it off.
3. Space Buns

Space buns are playful and super secure. Dividing your hair into two sections and creating buns keeps everything neat. Secure those buns tightly with both elastics and bobby pins.
