9. The Braided Bun
Combine a braid with a bun for even more security. I like to braid the ponytail first, then wrap it into a bun. It adds a nice texture too.

A classic casual look. It can actually be quite durable if you use enough bobby pins. Place them strategically around the bun for hold.

A simple trick for extra hold. Take a small section of hair from your ponytail and tie it around the base in a knot. It adds a little detail too.

Use a scarf to secure your ponytail instead of just an elastic. It looks pretty and provides extra hold. Wrap the scarf tightly around the base.
