Hey, autumn cool crew–do you feel like changing your lengths as the apples fall and football tables, and lattes? What would happen when your riding pony was actually editorial with one little change? What do you like to have on your Fall hairstyle on your long hairs, what would make you feel most like yourself soft, Casual, maybe a bit Aesthetic, but also Easy? I have been keeping up with what actually does look good beyond the runway, and in this rolling guide I am sharing 25 looks of 2025 and I will start with these five beauties and I will work my way up. Ready to play?
Copper Bow Half-Up with Crown Braid
I can not stop thinking about this cinnamon-glow effect: shimmery Redhead hue styled in a loose wave and then pulled up in a half-up bow with a thin braid through the crown. Tendrils which frame the face make everything soft so you have lift without sacrificing romance. It says Sweet and slightly Aesthetic- the sort of Simple, Easy-breezy fix that makes errands main-character energy.
To take care of copper brightness, I apply a color-depositing conditioner once a week to add back the color a bit- Joico Color Infuse Red keeps warmth punchy, not brassy. A dab of Oribe Supershine on the ends pre-heat keeps bow sleek but not sticky and lengths touchable. The day frizz (attempted) it on a wet-ish day, I spritzed a smidge of Water and re-twisted; it re-powdered without being heavy, a- small-fixture, big-payoff situation.
My version of this: this style adores optional curtain Bangs, which are already provided by the facial pieces. The expert colorist Tracey Cunningham always advises glossing in between visits to keep reds shiny–so when that shine goes, I make a demi-gloss appointment. Small ritual, big mood.
In case your hair does not want to hold the bow, replace it with two small transparent elastics that will hold the loops and conceal them along with that mini braid. Want it dressier? Slip in a fine velvet ribbon of a darker blush than your copper–and you will be suddenly looked at as a harvest-party beauty.
Classic Dutch Braid, All the Way Down
It is the long-game power play: one tight Dutch braid beginning up high that slings cleanly to the length. It looks architectural on pale Blonde lengths; more graphic on darker hair. It is secure, quick and obvious–Very Easy and Simple–a useful Fall hairdo during the few days one is vying to get to Pilates as soon as possible then off to pumpkin stands.
Prep matters. Roots are brushed smooth with Living Proof No Frizz Vanishing Oil and lengths are spritzed with plain Water prior to the braid application-a little moisture creates some tackiness and tamps down frizz. On gym days, I always top off with a little light spritz of R+Co Outer Space as it layers, but it does not crisp. Pain-free unwind later, thank you.
My own technique is to pull each part after tying off–this is what we call in the States, making wide–and the plait presents a fuller appearance. Chris Appleton tends to to cold-blast styles to set shape; I apply a 10-second cold shot over the braid and the style stays sharp to bedtime. Flash poll: you pull-outs slick or fluffy?
Want day-two variety? Braided to sleep on it, unbraid in the morning, and you have ribboned waves. Wear that texture Straight tomorrow pass at the ends with a flat iron–you can wear that same hair three ways.
Side-Swept Crown into Cozy Side Plait
Feminine, fall-afternoon vibes: slow crown twist and eases to a big side braid. It is casual yet deliberate- great with a Brunettes girl who wants form without formality. It is as much orchard date as last-minute dinner-Totally Casual, effortlessly Cute.
It is less about maintenance: I put a pea of Bumble and bumble Hairdresser Invisible Oil between my palm, rake mids to even them out, then braid. When layers appear I do not struggle with them-small texture clips at the nape leave everything snug without over-polishing. A few whacks of dry shampoo at the roots will keep lift going on cold hat-hair days.
This is the style I tend to grab on when things on my schedule start to merge one into each other. I take a couple of strands at the ear loose, and to be more dramatic I run a ribbon between the legs of the braid. Pro tip I learned straight from stylist Justine Marjan: put your elastics a little low than where you think, and pancake up through them- the braid will appear so much thicker.
If your hair is super silky, dust a touch of texturizing powder (Schwarzkopf OSIS+ Dust It) along the braid path before you start. It’s like traction for hands. Sunday stroll approved.
Winter-Sun Platinum with Lived-In Waves
Flowy and ethereal cool-tone platinum which turns into airy curls that are lightweight at the crown and then melt into airy curves like Sunday morning in a white tee. The trick is being less hard: nothing crunchy, just tossily and with a bit of root volume. On Blonde lengths the impact is polished, modern and so 2025.
Platinum needs TLC. I rotate a purple shampoo (Amika Bust Your Brass) with a bond-builder mask (K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair) so tone stays icy and ends stay springy. I spritz a weightless-protect on before the heat, then I use a drop of oil and rake it through the back couple of inches only so the crown retains its bulk.
Out of personal experience, this color sings when the cut has layers that are barely there. And in case you are in need of versatility, it also goes super sleek-pin-Straight with a center part and a shine spray is a two minute flip from these waves. The secret to cheat lift (I know I say this a lot) is a couple of sprays of texture spray at the roots, Jen Atkin is a fave on this front.
When you have longevities, request your colorist to give you a shadow root one-half-shade darker than what you are on the base. It gives us dimension, gives us more space between appointments and makes that Sunday tee energy feel purposeful.
Half-Up Knot with Soft Balayage Ends
The weekend staple has arrived: leave the lengths loose with lazy bends a mini top-knot to make the face more open. The color molted by the sun-brighter roots into mids and ends in honeyed shine-so Brunettes have brightness, but not high maintenance. It is what they call Casual, and yes, very Easy on the busy days.
I keep the knot grippy with a spritz of texture spray (Verb Volume Dry Texture) before twisting; then I secure with two bobby pins crossed like an X. To shine that loose length, a light serum- Redken One United- is the best to work with the least. Soft curtain Bangs, or grow-outs, look great here, though if you love fringe, they will work equally well.
My personal micro-ritual: a windy walk leaves me with re-mist ends which I re-mist in Water, scrunch and air-set them, whilst making tea. The kink comes back and the frizz freezes, and I am out of the door again. Cozy magic.
Want it dress-up ready? Insert a small tort claw instead of the knot and pin it, back of the ear. Add hoops, swipe of lip balm—done and done.
Glossy Dark Curls with Defined Volume
I find something hypnotic in fat, chocolaty spirals which reflects the lights in a correct way. This is extremely-defined ringlets moisturized along the root to its ends with volume in the crown to balance it. It is that kind of Fall hair look on long hairs that gets luxurious, but not in an overdone way – a nice balance between Aesthetic texture and relatable glamour that meets the moment in 2025.
For curls like these, moisture is queen. I put Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel on top of a light leave on, such as SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Conditioner. A spritz of Water on day two after it has been refreshed makes it come back to life without leaving build up on the hair. To help that shine last as long as possible, do not forget a silk pillowcase.
Personally, I know that one of the ways to maintain a sharp curl also entails doing the finger-coiling of the top layer of the hair after applying a product and fashioning. Stylist Vernon Francois recommends that you should always treat curls as cashmere, as he says: soft hands! no rough rubbing! so I either leave them to air dry or do a low setting on a diffuser.
Half a swipe of shine oil when you go out–particularly when the golden autumn light is upon you–makers this every day beautiful into head-turning with a single step. Its trick to style in a way that causes strangers to question: Who does your hair?
Side-Braided Elegance with Sleek Edges
It is the braid you don when you want to look polished and yet still want to feel comfortable: a neat side braid beginning at the crown, edges rolled into soft swirls. It is sleek and sculptural and simply Cute enough to take to the red-carpet party but just as good on a date to a fall dinner.
To keep braids neat, I apply a smoothing cream (Mizani Styling Lotion) before sectioning and use an edge control like Ebin 24 Hour Extreme Hold for baby hairs. When braiding, it is good to spray a little bit of Water on hands that will enable the flyaways to be tucked without messing with the smooth side.
To my mind, this kind of style can show that Braids do not have to be boho. When combined with statement earrings it is a lesson in subtle diva-ness. Hairstylist Nai vasha has been mentioned severally that sleek hairstyles require balance- hence the perfection is making the braid a little loose and the edges sharp.
Add softness by undoing the nape-braided section and tugging one face-framing strand. It does not lose or start over and goes directly to Casual.
Twist-and-Braid Bubble Ponytail
This is one not to put off when you are willing to have some fun with dimension: a top-twist bun which gradates into a bubble-braided ponytail. The portions are puffed only enough to be Aesthetic, and modern. Besides, its sculptured silhouette makes it a type of Fall style of long hairs that is bound to raise eyebrows not only at coffee shops but also at concerts.
To make my bubbles keep their shape I prefer to prepare with a dry texture spray. It uses small clear elastic randomly spaced down the length that creates structure and the tugs on each section gives that pillowy effect. On the top twist I tack in place with French pins to hold invisibly.
When I have tried the braid myself, it seems to be the more laid-back cousin of a standard braid, similar to one of those looks, but not quite as chaotic as the others. Celebrity stylist Chris Appleton has claimed that the bubble ponies photograph like a dream and I can attest they perform much better in gold fall light.
To give it a flavor of Casual, loosen more on bubbles and do not do the top twist. It becomes a casual festival style that does not seem to be unintended.
