The winter is the time of re-invention – layers, warm knits, and, of course, new, exciting hair. However, when you have a round face Shape, you are likely to be well aware of the balancing act of getting a haircut that is both flattering and yet does not conceal that softness inherent in you. Is it Short and daring you would go? Or perhaps a long butterfly haircut that gives drama? The best thing is that winter hairtrend in 2025/2026 is providing us with endless inspiration and I have come up with twenty one things that are not merely trends and bathe in their own mood.
There are several of my favorite cuts I have viewed this season, and I would like to take you through the initial set of inspirations.
Buzzed Confidence
The buzzed cut is incredibly liberating, particularly during the colder seasons when scarves, collars and statement coats are the order of the day. Such a Short haircut is not only pointing out your texture but also making the roundness of your face balance and this provides you with sharp sculpted lines. The simplicity leaves room to do any dramatic makeup or accessories that stand out and it is therefore a surprising but fashionable choice as winter haircuts on round faces.
To maintain its even and clean look, regular touch-ups, typically 2-3 times a month are necessary. Personally, I have found clippers by Wahl or Andis to be useful provided you are able to maintain them yourself, but otherwise, a visit to a salon will suffice in a matter of minutes. I would be frank and say that I once assumed that this cut was not my type but when I watched celebrity hairstylist Gregory Patterson discuss the freedom it gives one, I realized otherwise. In my case, this is the type of haircut that is professional and delightful at the same time. Something similar to this was something I wore last year, and I recall experiencing a sense of having unlimited styling opportunities, such as straight, curled, or even tucked in a scarf. It never failed me.
When you want the best compromise, neither too long, not too Short, but plenty of layers to make it soft, you can count on this one. Literally.
Classic Soft Bob
Not a lot of cuts can have the classic sensuality of a bob, with those bangs that hang softly and look like curtains. In case of rounded faces it is one of the best options as it forms a thin framing without overemphasizing the width. Kept a medium length only, with feathered ends, it is contemporary, but refined, just right at workdays and holidays on the point-blank.
Shine is the most important here. I would use a smoothing serum – the Supershine of Oribe is a dream. The Shape medium and bouncy can also be maintained by a quick blow-dry with a round-brush.
I think this bob looks like a blank canvas almost. You can make it straight and smooth when you want to feel glam, or add it some waves when you want to have a casual weekend. Chris Appleton talks a lot about how bobs are versatile as they match the outfit you have on and that has been so true with me.
And in a winter coat and boots and, perhaps, even scarlet lipstick, this cut reminds that Paris in the middle of winter – stylish without being overstated.
Soft Curly Bob with Curtain Bangs
A soft Short curly bob with wispy curtain bangs must be listed among the most adorable winter hair cuts on round-faced women. The Shape is rounded but slightly messed which makes the most of natural curls and stretches out the face through vertical bangs. It is feminine, friendly, and a little vintage, which is why it is the ideal partner on the days of the cozy knitwear and layered winter outfits.

The slice here is towards light, imprecise layers that provide depth, with a deliberately dishevelled yet deliberate quality. To a round face Shape, it is brilliant: the height on top is extended making the face longer and the sides are choppy delivering angles. This form of 2025 Japanese short style is becoming popular due to its combination of pixie-like simplicity with an alt touch.
